In 2018, I started brAIMS — an entrepreneurs network designed to connect founders with investors. The idea made sense on paper: only 1% of startups get funded, so bring the 1% and the 99% together.
But the first thing I learned stopped me in my tracks.
The real problem wasn't access to capital. It was that founders — especially solo founders — were making hundreds of critical decisions every week with no one to pressure-test their thinking against. No co-founder. No experienced advisor. No one to say "have you thought about this?" at 11pm when the doubt hits.
